Stock Talk daveo writes "If you saw the news today at all im sure you heard of "alli" by GlaxoSmithKline. Its the only non perscription diet pill approved by the fda. I think it will sell big, and we should cash in. I want to get in it soon but, I am on lunch and have no time to research. Chek it out."

Typically by the time an FDA approval is announced in the media, the stock price already reflects the expected big sales. Real money is made by being in the know beforehand and gambling on the approval, or if sales/profit beats the expectations of the market.
Similar to the discussion in the forums about jumping onto the ethanol bandwagon after ethonol got big play in the news last spring.
